Fandom Cosmetics Review :)

Good afternoon/morning/night depending on where you are located on the planet :) I've finally had the time to finish this review of the 3 beautiful Fandom Cosmetic polishes that Annie sent to me. Just a little about Fandom Cosmetics is that all polishes 5-free, Vegan, and Cruelty Free!!! They are made by Annie and Leigh the Sci-fi lovers and more duo.

The polishes they sent to me were 'Anne with an E' from the Anne of Green Gables Collection, 'Sweetest Spirit' from the Downtown Abbey Collection, and Your Ken Can Kiss My Barbie from their Big Bang Theory Collection. I just want to say that the formula of the polishes was flawless! I was very amazed by the uniqueness of details that Annie puts into her brand example the letter that was included in the package. You can see bits of it here :)

First up is the beautiful Anne with an E from the Anne of Green Bables Collection. I applied 3 thin coats on my nails plus top coat. This green polish glows!(not in the dark, but the shimmers make it glow and it's so magical). I got so many compliments on the polish. I myself don't like green polish, but this one was a different. Most people that complimented the polish would start with the phrase,"I don't even like green polish, but the one you have on your nails is beautiful/different/so pretty etc.". Then I would say, "omg that was my reaction to the nail polish myself". Then they would ask where I got it and what indie polish was. It was pretty cool because I had to go into the whole world of indies and the little shops online.

I couldn't decide on what picture to post, so I chose my favorites. Enjoy the picture spam :D

I don't like adding a little logo to the pictures because it makes the resolution kind of bad.

Next is 'Sweetest Spirit' from the Downtown Abbey Collection. Sweetest Spirit  is a light blue crelly perfectly opaque in 3 thin coats. I had a little trouble catching the true color since it changes depending on the light.

The color is slightly different in this picture, but not that much.

Last but not least is 'Your Ken Can Kiss My Barbie' from their Big Bang Theory Collection. It is a sheer glitter polish made up of different sized yellow, light blue, periwinkle, and white hexes perfect for spring. This is one perfect coat over sinful colors end-less blue. Absolutely no fishing needed.

All in all the polishes were so pretty an the application was like butter. These polishes have made me a fan of Fandom Cosmetics. If you would like to be updated on the releases of Anne With An E, Sweetest Spirit, and Your Ken Can Kiss My Barbie check out +FandomCosmetics on IG or their website Fandom Cosmetics that features many different polishes and other goodies for all the fans out there!

Thanks for reading!! Till next time :)

KBshimmer Totally Tubular!!!!

I recently bought some KBShimmer polishes and they are beautiful! Hex Appeal is the polish that made me want to get more polishes from Christy. The formula is a dream and the glitter combos are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Something else about these polishes other than the quality is that they are not too pricey. They are all $8.75 a bit more than let's say mainstream Essie polishes, but worth every extra penny :)

I really bought this polish because it reminded me on Sulley from the Movie Monsters Inc which is one of my favorite movies. I also liked the name! Super cool Yo!!

Totally Tubular is a tealish blueish color, with fuchsia circles , aqua circles, and different colored hex glitters.

This was 2 coats of Totally Tubular over a basecoat+ top coat. The Formula and the application was a dream. This polish seemed like a crelly(jelly/creme) formula.

For the accent(index finger) I did a tye dye effect(that's what I call it) using two different polishes adding a good amount and swirling them together with a toothpick.

Totally tubular is a bit darker in person.

I loved this polish so much that I am wearing on my toes at the moment!!

Rainbow Collaboration #1

I'm on a blogging marathon, right now that I actually have the time! (or want to write lol). @nailslikelace on Instagram came up with an idea to collab with anyone who wanted to participate. It was like a #bestietwinnails, but with a lot of nail lovers. The theme that she came up with was Rainbow!!! I had never done anything rainbow like and was really excited to participate because it seemed like fun! I really did not know what to do(like always, shake my head). Anyways, I came up with doing a half moon mani, with glitter placement, and a rainbow made up by two nails. So, I had 2 rainbows on my hand(my thumb was not pictured, but it had its own rainbow on it). In total 111 nail lovers collaborated with @nailslikelace and she made a collage with all the pictures people submitted via IG, e-mail, Kik, you name it! It has been one of the biggest collaborations, that I know of at least. Here is her collage:
It's amazing isn't it!!!! My individual nails are next.

I am pretty proud of these still :) @nailslikelace is doing another Collab, this time it is a different theme. I am not sure if it's a secret, but just in case I won't spoil the surprise! If you want to join in the fun make sure to follow @nailslike lace on Instagram and ask her how you could join! I would be awesome to have a lot of people collaborate and have our nials come out in the world records book!!
Till next time

Cathy

Update on the Biotin Experiment!

Update on the biotin Experiment via pictures !! I feel like Biotin is helping my nails, of course I am not 100% sure. I have been wearing nail polish almost everyday for 7 months and have been using OPI's Nail Envy and Cuticle oils/cremes on my cuticles for 3 months. So, that adds to the length and strength of my nails. I think its a combination of everything! All I know is that I am in love with my nails at the moment, I have never had them this long!!

Day 1:

Week 1:

Week 2:

Week 3:

Week 4:

I finished the whole biotin bottle and my nails did grow a lot! Sadly, the second week after the Biotin experiment one of my nails had a severe break and I had to file all my nails down :( It took me a long time to grow them out. But, now they are back to normal :D

I have concluded that pills are not needed but, that you always need to have at least base coat on your nails and preferably always have your nails painted. That's the best way to prevent a breakage!!

Biotin Experiment

My dilemma/Experiment:

Since I have used OPI's Nail Envy my nails have become stronger than ever before, but they break a little from the corners every now and then. I am looking to see what can really strengthen and thicken my nails so I won't have that problem. I have decided to start taking Biotin pills to see if can make my nails grow faster and maybe a little thicker. I am doing a little experiment. It might not work, but sometimes the faith in a product is what really causes it to work, It's all in your head!

What is Biotin:

Biotin is a coenzyme and a B vitamin, also known as vitamin H. As a supplement, biotin is sometimes used for diabetes, brittle nails, healthy hair, acne, hair loss, and other conditions(WebMd) It is not guaranteed that it helps or treats any of these conditions, as much as companies guarantee that it does.

Where I bought my Biotin Bottle:

I bought Nature Made Superior Potency Biotin 5000 mcg. It got this at TARGET(my favorite store) for $7.49+ tax. It would have been $9.49+ tax, but I used a coupon on Shopkick(and awesome app, that where you can accumulate points for prizes. Check it out the link at the bottom if you want) The pills are liquid soft gels and I will take one everyday for 63 days after breakfast & see if any significant thing happens to my hair, nails, or skin. I will post a weekly picture of my nail progress each week for anyone that wants to see the results that "studies guarantee". Again I don't believe in statements made by companies because all they are trying to do is sell their product.

Nature's Made Biotin Superior Potency 5000 mcg I bought at Target for $7.49  when it used to be $9.49.
These are the liquid soft gels that I will be taking everyday for 3 months !!

These are my nails on Day 1 of the Experiment 02/19/13

Til the next update! XOXO- Cathy

Time Line of my nails! *OLD

This was like my beginning love for nail story. So embarrassing to look at !!!
