#31DC2013 Day 2: Orange

Continuing the 31 day challenge, the theme for the second day was Orange!I'm still a day behind which means I'll have to do 2 manis in one day sometime this month, but it's a challenge for a reason right?

I only have one orange in my polish stash and it is also a recent buy. It's called orange strap wedges by venique. It is a neon orange that dries semi-matte. I also used silver loose glitter from the Born Pretty Store to finish my design. I know I did this a few months back, but I only did it on two nails last time. 

This is 3 coats of orange strap wedges, plus the glitter, and once coat of Hk Girl top coat. I could have gone with another coat of the top coat because the glitters still felt fought, but I was ok with it.

Like all neons, my camera could not catch the true color. It was super vibrant in real life.

 I did this mani at night like at 12 so that explains why my glitter isn't in a straight line.... lol jk I naturally can't do things perfect :'(, but I still liked the outcome!!

OPI Ate Berries in the Canaries & Polka.com

It's been some time since I've worn a manicure that is really simple. No nail art, no nada. I really need to practice on doing nail art, but my designs don't really come out that well so I just stop. Also, I've been uninspired wish someone could do my nails for once lol.

On a good note I have been noticing that my bottle pictures are getting better, at least I think so. My fingers don't look as awkward as they used to :)

Polka. com is a glitter polish with pink, light blue, and periwinkle colored glitter with even finer tinier loose periwinkle glitter.

Ate Berries in the canaries is creme polish that is a dark-ish fuschia color. It was very smooth and easy to apply.

 Here is 1 coat of Polka.com over 2 coats of Ate Berries in the Canaries + top coat.

I really liked the end results of the combination of the two polishes, it is like they were meant for each other!!

It was kind of hard to show the true color of the polish. It seems more pink here than it is in person.

 

 

I decided to add a matte finish my to nails to try to show the true color and it came out better!

This picture is just to show you how the nails on my right hand look. My nails are super short because I am right-handed and I use it more than my left hand. There really is a tremendous difference between my nails on both hands. I am working on getting them to where I want them to be.

Gradient Nail pictures

Hello! Last time I posted up a video on how to do a nail gradient, now It's just pictures of the gradient I did and what polishes I used. I was for once proud of myself :D. Gradients are not to hard to do once you get the hang of it, all you need is practice just like with everything else in life. Patience is key too! Cliches, I know but, they are true. Hope you like my pictures!!

Polishes I used Left to right: Essie Protein Basecoat ,Venique Orange Strap Wedges,China Glaze Pool Party, Flying Dragon, Fairy Dust, & SinfulColors Endless Blue.

How to do a nail gradient video

Hello Lovelies!! I've only done a gradient on my naisl once I believe and it came out alright, I didn't really use good colors. While I was on Lacquerstyle's blog, one of her videos made me want to try to do a gradient again and I did. I also made a video, just cuz I wanted to try out my video making skills ;) Hope you like it and stay to watch the whole video. I also have A LOT of pictures of the manicure because I LOVED it(will post later). The colors, how bright it was, everything!! I rarely say that so, it's a first.
